Trick or Treat

Carving pumpkins is such fun. Ashlynn doesn't really like the gooooey stuff but she decided this year to be a " big girl" and do it all herself! Yeaaaaa, Sissy!!!

Ben didn't want to do it so Daddy did it. As you can see he is being a typical boy and playing with the knives....don't worry they are not sharp enough to cut yourself but cut pumpkins very well! Notice Whiskers looking on from the window......

Our Big Ben and cheerleader.....

I think Ben is mad....what do you think????

You go boy...he is so funny. Whenever he watchs the Steelers play and they show Big Ben on the screen he says.."look, there's Ben. That's me!" Don't we wish......

A Quick Trip....

We are soooo grateful to Theresa and Keith. They sure did surprise us but what fun we had. It was so great to be able to come to Florida and see everyone. Even if it was a short visit. I was such a bag full of emotion during our trip. From excited to a cry baby. It was just so good to see everyone. Specially since we don't have anyone here and don't get out much...lol. I miss everyone so very much.
Ashlynn and Benjamin loved their time with "the cousins". We kept telling them about all the cousins they had but I don't think they actually understood till they saw for themselves. They sure had fun and surprising they got along with them all.

Waiting on our plane to take us to "HOT HOT" Florida....everyone was soooo excited!

Listening to some music on the flight....

My mommy and three of her grand-kids...

Ashlynn loving the slide...

Our weekend trip to Lewisburg, PA

We went to Lewisburg for the weekend. Some of our good friends came in on vacation so we decided to take a trip. The Lewisburg Pen was having a softball tournament for all the prisons in the area so Austin ended up playing all day on Saturday from 7:30am-10:30pm. He was tired!!Meanwhile my friend Bobby and I with all the "chilren" went to the mall to try and get my camera fixed. (Mom Kready... we went to the Susquehanna Mall that you took me to a long time ago when we visited you and dad at Christmas time) Anyway we had a good time visiting and it was just good to get away for awhile. Just wish we had a little more time to drive around and visit all Austins old haunts. Austin said it was weird to hear ads on the radio from his "home" town!!!

This is Ben, Logan and Ashlynn at the softball field. I would have had more pics but my camera had other plans!

One very tired man......

They had a little park there at the field so we stopped and took a few pics....

Love, Love this pic....

Knoebels here we come.....

A King, Princess and a Knight....

While we were at Knoebels, they were having a storytime. We were sitting very quietly in the audience and the storyteller came into the crowd and picked Ashlynn for a princess and Benjamim for a Knight. Then she came back out and picked Austin for the King. I thought I was going to crack up laughing not at the kids but at Austin. So funny......

Our 4th of July

We didn't do much on the 4th. We went down to our property and cut down some trees. That was fun....wooohooo!!! Then we headed up to Deep Creek (other known as Wisp Ski Resort), MD to watch fireworks. It was sooo chilly. We had to wear jackets and have blankets. BRRRR!!

Jeremy's Send Off......

O.K., yesterday was Jeremy's Graduation/Send Off party. WOW! What a day it was! I planned and cooked for 2 days due to him leaving so quickly. I thought I had a couple months yet to get it done. Oh, well. What can ya do??!!! Just thankful it turned out great and it had finally quit raining!!!

Jeremy with his recruiter, Sgt. Ellis

Now, let me explain the messed up cake. I had, of course, to go into town to get the cake. I worried because it was soooo big that I might drop it or it would get messed up on the ride home etc. I was very pleased when I pulled in the garage and made it in the house with the cake. I sat the cake on the stove so I could get the table ready for it. So, I then decided to make some tea and moved the cake to the table. Never even crossed my mind to put the cat in the basement. Whiskers had never done anything before..... I turn to the stove to make the tea and out of the corner of my eye. I see the wonderful Whiskers make a flying leap from the window sill where he was happy watching the birds, to the middle of MY CAKE!!!!!! Good thing the lid was still on or we would have had a cake covered cat or we would have been eating GRILLED CAT!!!!!!

The cake with sparklers......

The beginning of the "cake fight"......

A face full......

The kids were the ones having the cake fight.....but I just "HAD" to get Jeremy!!!!!

Ashlynn telling me " Mommy, you have cake in your hair."

United Flight 93 Memorial

I'll let this pic speak for its self.....

This is a piece of steel from the Twin Towers. Notice the emblems in each letter or number. U...WTC(World Trade Center), A...Flight 93 in PA, 9...Pentagon

The church that has a memorial garden

This is what it looks like at the Memorial of Flight 93. All those pews have the names of the crew on them.

The "wall" where people can leave whatever they may want to. We saw hats, shirts, baby toys, lip gloss, just about anything and everything. It was so neat to walk around and look at all the things. The security officer said they come around every week and clean things off and within a few days it is all covered again. They have kept everything that has been left.

Second side of the wall.

The field where the plane went down. It is totally fenced in and only family is allowed down there. It is considered a "mass grave".

It is amazing to see this place. You kind of forget about what happened during your day to day life. When you visit a place like this it really makes you remember what actually happened to our country!
